Calderas[edit]
History[edit]
The settlement Ald'Ruhn was built around the carcass of Skar, an ancient Emperor Crab that was slain by the united tribes and a long-forgotten hero of legend.
Prior to the founding of Ald'ruhn, the Chimer were nomadic,[76] organized into tribes that later became the Great Houses.[77] Skar, a fearsome Emperor Crab, was a relentless natural menace in the region of Vvardenfell. In response, the First Ashkhans from the Ahemmusa, Erabenimsun, Urshilaku, and Zainab tribes united to confront this menace. Dranoth, a member of House Hleran, emerged as a hero wielding the mighty spear Calderas to vanquish the Emperor Crab.[74][75] House Hleran settled near Foyada Drura for a prosperous, peaceful life. However, when the successors of the First Ashkhans came to power, they turned against the Hleran, forcing them out of the Ashlands.[76] Dranoth's and Calderas' name and legend faded from memory over time, surviving only as a faint recollection.[74][75] Among the Ashlander wise women and loremasters, Calderas' wielder became known as "The Unsung."[78]
At that time, it was nothing more than a fragile relic, marked by the wounds of countless battles. Too aged for practical use, yet still possessing potent symbolic significance.[79]
