Quick Walkthrough

1. (Optional) Read Rue Vaneria's bounty notice posted in taverns across the Strident Coast.
2. Speak with Lantin Chaskav in Goldstone's garrison for information on the bounty.
3. Travel to the bridge south of Beldaburo and confront Rue Vaneria.
4. Either...
   1. Agree to let Rue Vaneria flee.
5. OR
   1. Subdue Rue Vaneria and return her to Faviana Taucita in Goldstone's grand foyer.
   2. Return to Lantin Chaskav for your reward.

Detailed Walkthrough

Anvil's commander of the guard, Lantin Chaskav, is on the top floor of the garrison at Goldstone. Ask him about the bounty and Rue Vaneria topics. Rue is apparently a vigilante who has been killing bandits on the border between the Kingdom of Anvil and Kingdom of Sutch, and Lantin wants her brought in alive for questioning. Express your interest, and he'll tell you to search the quieter parts of the border for Rue.

To find Rue, travel to Thresvy and head north, joining the path that runs under the ruined tower of Old Thraswatch, and onwards towards the kingdom border. You'll find Rue (and a bunch of corpses) just beyond the brick bridge that stands beneath the Ayleid ruins of Garlas Malatar. Speak to her. You'll have a choice of warning her about the bounty on her head, or insisting on claiming it. If you warn her, she'll ask you to lie to Lantin about her death, and offers an Amulet of Shield in exchange. If you insist on claiming the bounty, she'll fight back, and you'll need to reduce her health until she yields. After this, you will be able to ask her to follow you - so take her back to Goldstone and bring her to Faviana Taucita in Goldstone's Grand Foyer so that she can be delivered to the dungeons.

Regardless of whether you captured Rue or let her go, return to Lantin. He'll pay you 1,500 for her capture, or nothing if you claim she died.
