Fultheim

Fultheim, a Nord warrior, is the only regular patron at the Nightgate Inn, aside from Balagog gro-Nolob. He stays there to "drink away a lifetime of bad memories", according to the innkeeper, Hadring.

Fultheim does very little in life and never even leaves the Nightgate Inn. He can always be found in the taproom or his own room, drinking or eating, and never pauses to sleep.

Fultheim carries a very rare Blades sword, although this is never addressed by anyone. He also carries a copy of The Red Book of Riddles, and 17 pieces of gold. He wears a belted tunic, with a hat and a pair of boots.

Dialogue

His greetings:

"Hadring got himself another customer, eh?"

"The beds and beer are both lousy, you ask me."

"What do you want?"

If spoken to:

Do you come here a lot?

"You see any other inns around here? Where else would I go to drink?"

What do you know about the Orc?

"Well he don't like company, I can tell you that much. Just wants to be left alone. But no... that's not really it. It's like... he wants to talk. Likes people and all. But he stays separate, because he's supposed to. Kind of sad, really."

When exiting conversation:

"Sure, walk away. I wasn't talking or anything..."

Rumors

Hadring will mention him when asked if he gets a lot of business:

"Nah, not so much. The odd traveler on the road. But mostly just old Fultheim, come to drink away a lifetime of bad memories, I'd wager."

Notes

• It's possible that Fultheim was not meant to carry the Blades sword at all, and that him having it was just a developer error, as there's nothing tying Fultheim to the Blades or vice versa. Inventory listings in Skyrim's Creation Kit use the item's Editor ID, which in this case would be AkaviriKatana. One entry above this, is ale, which is an item that makes more sense for Fultheim to have, and is also carried by Hadring. It's possible that the developer resposible accidentally misclicked when adding the entry to his inventory.
• Fultheim's only AI package NightgateInnFultheimPackage1 is numbered, oddly enough. Normally, an AI package does not get a numeral suffix, unless there are multiple of them, which isn't the case here. It's possible that Fultheim was meant to have more packages, but that they were either fully deleted or never created in the first place.
