Detailed Walkthrough[edit]
To pick up this quest, you must make your way to an Event Exchange or to Olyve's Brewery in Auridon, Glenumbra, or Stonefalls during the Witches Festival.
To begin the quest, speak with Witchmother Taerma. She will task you with collecting 30 Cursed Feathers, which have begun to appear throughout Tamriel as a portent of the arrival of a particularly powerful Wraith-of-Crows. These feathers are dropped in small amounts by any boss enemy you defeat. The feathers are found within Plunder Skulls, event boxes that drop from bosses during the Witches Festival, but only during the time you have this portion of this quest active; before you accept this quest, they will not appear, and they will stop appearing after you've collected enough to satisfy the quest requirement. You should be able to quickly gather the 30 required by visiting delves, world bosses, and similar locations during the event. The daily Dremora Plunder Skulls contain more feathers, so it may be faster to fight a variety of bosses to gather the required number.
Once you have 30 feathers, return to Olyve's Brewery and speak with Taerma. She will craft a Crowborne Horror Effigy, an item needed to use the portal within the brewery and access the Garden of Shadows. This area is a boss arena where you will face an event-specific group boss, the Crowborne Horror. The Crowborne Horror will be difficult to take on solo, so it is recommended that you group with other players before entering the portal if you're having difficulty.
Once the Horror is defeated, you must exit the realm and speak with Witchmother Taerma for your reward. The boss itself drops no loot; Taerma will instead reward you with a special Dremora Plunder Skull. This quest can be repeated daily for the duration of the event.
Notes[edit]
- This quest uses the Group Delve icon.
- Upon the release of this quest in 2021, Taerma would give three regular Plunder Skulls as a reward. This was changed the next year to a Dremora Plunder Skull, Crowborne Horror.
- Originally, this quest required you to gather 50 feathers. This was reduced to 30 in 2022.

- Not all Journal Entries may appear in your journal; which entries appear and which entries do not depends on the manner in which the quest is done.
- Stages are not always in order of progress. This is usually the case with quests that have multiple possible outcomes or quests where certain tasks may be done in any order. Some stages may therefore repeat objectives seen in other stages.
