Raxle Berne was an Imperial vampire and the patriarch of the Berne Clan of Vvardenfell. He occupied the Dwemer ruin of Galom Daeus, which functioned as the fortress of his clan.[1]
Due to the death of her brother at the hands of the Berne Clan in 2E 582, Volrina Quarra would seek vengeance on the Clan and eventually emerge as the matriarch of her own clan.[2][3][1] The Quarra clan was devastated in 3E 427, as both Raxle Berne[4] and Mistress Dratha of Tel Mora[5] desired a vial of Quarra blood, which Volrina kept locked in the Quarra Clan's Dwemer fortress of Druscashti. According to some sources, Volrina was slain during an attempt to retrieve the potion, but whether Raxle or Dratha got to the vial first is unknown.[1]
Residents of Molag Mar saw the Berne Clan as pests, and several groups sought to put an end to Raxle Berne. The details of how Raxle Berne met his end are unclear. Some sources state that the Tribunal Temple sent a Curate to purge the Clan from Galom Daeus in exchange for Veloth's Judgement.[6] Another source states that House Telvanni sought to create a stronghold in Uvirith's Grave, and required the knowledge to build Dwemer Animunculi which would function as guards for the stronghold. Unfortunately for the Berne Clan, Galom Daeus was the only known location for a book titled Secrets of Dwemer Animunculi, and Raxle Berne and his Clan were a nuisance on the way to obtain it.[7]
