Battlespire talk:Character Creation
"At the beginning of each Battlespire level, you receive the number of bonus points listed. If creating a Multiplayer character for a given level, you receive the bonus points for that level and all levels before it. There is an interesting detail about these bonus point rewards. Your Build Point total for each level up screen is the sum of your Leftover BP plus the Award BP for the level you have reached. However, the Leftover BP is not the amount leftover from your previous Level Up. Instead, it is the amount leftover from character creation. This means that unspent points at the start become a recurring level up bonus every level after. However, unspent points on the level up screen do not carry forward. Thus, you should save as many points as possible on character creation, but try to spend all of your points every level up."
- This information is simply wrong, at least in the GOG version of the game. You recieve your leftover points from character creation only once; leftover points from character creation spent on floor two or otherwise will not return on further floors and thus there is no practical reason to save them rather than spend them in character creation. This advice serves to do nothing but make the first floor harder for no benefit. --RIpperley (talk) 20:34, 04 October 2021 (UTC)
- I guarantee this behavior exists in the GOG version. I still have the spreadsheets where I calculated it all. It is possible it is an oddity of the multiplayer system, as I did test these things in Cooperative mode. If someone would test further, please record your XP at the end of character creation, and the beginning and end of each level-up screen. --Lost in Hyrule (talk) 02:06, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

- I checked two different Let's Plays on Single Player, and can confirm what you mentioned. Your leftover BP from character creation are used at the end of Level 1, but every level end after that gives only the award for that level. That means the bonus point behavior I previously described is unique to Cooperative. --Lost in Hyrule (talk) 02:22, 6 October 2021 (UTC)

- I haven't played the multiplayer but my experience was in single player yes. I unfortunately haven't kept any of my saves at the end of each level, but if the information can be extracted from the file that stores my per-level classes I'd be happy to share it? Otherwise I have a screenshot showing my remaining points in class creation, and can take a screenshot once I reach level 7 to compare the values. It is likely as you say a strange quirk of multiplayer, if I play through the cooperative mode too I'll make sure to keep a record of my level ups there. Should this information be added back to the main page then but with the preface that it seems to be a multiplayer feature/quirk/bug/exploit/thingie? --RIpperley (talk) 03:10, 06 October 2021 (UTC)

- Yeah, I think it is worth noting. We can also mention the excess points only being available for one level in singleplayer, to encourage people not to hoard! Having checked those two videos, I don't think any further research is strictly necessary. If anyone does find further quirks, though, we can revise! --Lost in Hyrule (talk) 13:34, 6 October 2021 (UTC)
