I've tried /w @Reorx <message>,/whisper @Reorx <message> but it doesnt look like the whisper goes through. My text box changes to light blue and says "Tell to @Reorx", but when I type my message and hit enter, I don't see an "echo" of my sent message. It doesn't seem like it's lag... Heraldry

I was wondering whether anyone has any ideas and suggestions for our guilds' heraldry. I think we should try and duplicate the same heraldry on both the NA and EU servers so our guilds have a unified, worldwide appearance.

My suggestion: based on the early discussions on the Guild name, and UESP's penchant for knowledge, history and wisdom (and contradiction), I would propose something that used the Julianos crest (seen left). Colours I think should be taken from the Yellow and Brown palettes, to complement site colours. (I have no current opinion on background shape/pattern.) --Enodoc (talk) 22:05, 10 August 2014 (GMT)

Given that the nature of wiki talk pages is such that words are recorded here for posterity, please bear in mind that I am saying this as politely as possible. Those of us at the NA Guild, particularly the regular wiki editors, were very aware that you wanted us to use the same design as the EU Guild. But while we appreciated the thought that had gone into your design, many of our more vocal members did not want us to use it for various reasons. I wasn't going to impose a design on our members against their will.

In theory, I like the idea of a united design between the two Guilds. However, the fact that the two servers are split irrevocably and there is no way to move from one to the other means that while it's a nice idea, very few people are going to be members of both Guilds at the same time. Actually, I don't know anyone other than myself who *is* a member of both Guilds! Similarly, we do not need to have the same Ranks or the same Purpose.

Jumping in on that, I just wanted to mention that I did ask repeatedly for feedback on the design from people on the NA server and got absolutely nothing in response, aside from a couple of positive comments, despite leaving it open for the whole of September. We basically came to the conclusion that nobody was interested in heraldry at all, and just went with the suggested design as-is. I am sorry for any bad-feeling this has caused, and personally sorry for a lack of communication between the North American Guild and the European Guild. Until I took over as Guildmaster on Monday (yes, this Monday, 3rd November), I thought of @Deandra and I as the "forums Officers" and @Jeancey and @Xyzzy684 as the "wiki Officers". Before the summer, I had been relying on Dave as the wiki admin, or Jeancey and Xyzzy as the wiki Officers, to tell our Guild members about anything here on the wiki which they needed to know about.

Unfortunately, over the summer Dave vanished to deal with his USB project. Meanwhile Jeancey was doing a final quarter at uni and also vanished entirely for about 2 months, and Xyzzy I think was busy with work and not around much. Also two members of my family died and I was busy from the middle of August to the middle of September. If you had posted the design on the forum as well as on the wiki, then it's highly likely that Deandra would have seen it and asked for comments from our members, although I know I wouldn't have because I was "away" from the internet, only using ESO as a place to de-stress.

Many of the members of the NA Guild are neither active "wiki people" nor active "forum people", but simply people who enjoy using UESP for information. Most of them don't know about Talk pages, most of them didn't know that UESP had a forum, most of them didn't even know what irc was until one of us explained it to them. Unless the Guild Officers were available to tell the members to look at the designs on the Guild Talk page, they wouldn't have known that the Talk page even existed, and we were either busy with unavoidable personal issues or simply dropped the ball. The first I personally knew about the Guild Tabard was when a member saw it posted on the main Guild page. By that point it was already a fait accompli, meaning that our opinions had become irrelevant. Given the Zenimax-enforced split between the two Guilds, what right do we have to say "We don't like your Tabard"? You can have whatever your members want!

If you want to steal our Tabard design, go for it. If you want to steal the colours and shape but keep the emblem of Julianos, that's fine. If you want to keep your exsting design because you came up with it first, that's absolutely fine too. If you want to move the information about the European Guild to the top of the page (because "E" comes before "N" in the alphabet), I don't mind at all :). But I also don't want to drag out the bad atmosphere that may have come from this, as it seems we are all happy with what we have come up with, and our members helped choose, which is the important thing. Member Inactivity

So, I figured I'd make a small section here for members to post in in case they need to go inactive for some time.

As for myself, it has come to my attention that I had forgotten to notify the UESP (NA) guild leaders that I will be inactive for an indeterminable amount of time (probably only a couple months most). Guild bank and store policies?

Please forgive me if this is not the place, but lacking other arenas to ask (as the forum thread about UESP guilds in general died out more than half a year ago), I try here:

Are there any guild bank and guild store policies? For myself, player on EU server, I have put into the bank some of my surplus of recipes and and withdrawn a couple from the bank, and taken out a few non-valuables more or less just taking space. As for the store, I have listed a whole lot of things I do not need, mostly armour and arms of sets, and a few recipes there already were one or two of in the bank. I didn't know we had the membership for a store on the EU server. There aren't any policies on our guild bank - it's based on good faith, which has led to one major incident in the past but otherwise has worked well so far. —Legoless (talk) 13:55, 30 December 2014 (GMT)

We have had a store on the EU server for about half a month now, but there are few of us actually listing things there yet. I have even sold half a dozen objects there. I do not know if the buyers are only UESP guild members or if there are outside buyers. If the latter, I guess we must have a guild merchant somewhere?

Having the bank based on good faith seems just as good a solution as most. Deposit and withdraw based on the users good judgement of fairness usually works, and is a system I as a Scandinavian can relate well to. The only thing I wonder a bit about is if there can be som accumulation of more or less clutter objects, but I guess what is one user's clutter might be another user's treasure? —MortenOSlash (talk) 16:05, 30 December 2014 (GMT)

To revive this discussion in light of recent events on the UESP guild, and after discussions on the guild chat:

I am even more sure the guild policy should be stated somewhere, even if it is stating it is based on good faith. I think it should be stated somewhere explicitly that members are expected to not withdraw values that exceed what they deposit, and it is based on good faith. This could save a lot of new guild members the doubt on what to expect, and might even have made more guild members aware earlier during the latest incident.

When I first discovered the guild bank I had played some twenty levelings already, but still felt new to the guild. Even so I several times asked for information on guild bank policy on the guild chat (though with non of the two guild officers present), but the silence that met me was roaring.

A couple of lines under each guild here maybe? (Or at least under the EU server, if the NA server guild does not want to?) Or a couple of lines in the in-game guild description? —MortenOSlash (talk) 15:10, 9 January 2015 (GMT)

Public Test Server

Just wondering whether either of the European Guild officers will be playing on the PTS this week? All North American server characters are being deleted today at 15:00 GMT, and European server characters will be copied over instead. I suspect Guilds will be copied along with the players, meaning that the UESP Guild on the PTS will become the European version.

I'm mentioning this because we have quite a few Guild members testing things out on the PTS. It would be a nice opportunity for the two "halves" of the Guild to meet each other and socialise, maybe not so much during the week but certainly at the weekend. I can provide a list of @usernames to add to the UESP roster if either of you will be on the PTS to administer it.

If not, don't worry - it *is* >30 GB to download if you've never used the PTS before (and ~16 GB if you have). I'd just like to know one way or the other so I can tell the NA members who to contact to "rejoin" the UESP Guild. --baratron (talk) 09:15, 3 February 2015 (GMT)

No plans as far as I'm aware, but it would be a good idea to start taking names. I think the consoles will have NA and EU megaservers as well, but unlike PC you'll be automatically assigned based on region. (←) With release date rapidly approaching, I'm bringing this up again. I will be on Xbox One, NA. My PC NA account is being copied (main char VR14 EP Nord DK) and I've been getting my affairs in order in preparation of tentatively being copied June 1st. I'm very active with the PC NA guild, and while I will miss everyone there, I very much want to see UESP continue on in the Xbox One incarnation. Is someone prepared to make the guild there? Who? I would like to add them to my friends list in advance. Have we a hierarchy yet; officers and whatnot?
What alliance will the guild itself be? On PC NA it is AD. I'd really like to see it as EP on Xbox, as I know a greater than average number of players (in my experience, in no way cemented as collective) are going to be playing EP, myself included for my main and second character. This is just a suggestion to be considered at any rate.
I know someone above said they would like the EU PC heraldry, but (again, only in my opinion) that looks... eh. Maybe instead of simply copying the existing heraldries, we could come up with our own distinctly unique design? I would very much be in support of this idea.
Have we any goals or mission statement, other than the obvious support for this site and its community? For example, just social? Or are we in the hopes of doing dungeons and pledges, trials, pvp, etc? Are we trying for a guild store, and therein a weekly trader?
Take all of these points with a grain of salt. They're only suggestions / concerns. Additionally, I'm happy to help anyone who needs help, be it with crafting arms and armor, food, etc. or by helping to supply the guild bank once it is open. Or simply by adventuring together or assisting with quests or objectives. No one has come forward as NA Xbone guildmaster, so if anyone's interested just state your intentions here beforehand. PC EU is Ebonheart Pact, and it does seem like that alliance has a slight majority, but since it's going to be a cross-alliance guild anyway it doesn't really matter. The EU guild is just the default ranks with different names (taken from the Loremaster's Archive). I think officer might have some extra stuff enabled for Enodoc, and we don't use recruit. Ultimately the alliance only affects the ability to claim keeps and resources for the guild in PvP, so it doesn't really matter for multi-alliance guilds like this. Oh, then I don't really care. As long as members can join and play PvE with other members in their faction, no worries. But we should probably spell out on the page what exactly the choice of alliance means, as there are likely a lot of other underinformed players out there at the moment who might not even try to join the guild due to the Old Mary association.
