Detailed Walkthrough

Jula Minthri has a task for you: to steal a unique soul gem from the local Mages Guild. It seems that one of the mages has managed to summon and soul trap a daedra known as Herne, even though such a feat is supposed to be impossible. To help you with your task, Jula gives you a Cheap Rising Force Potion and a Potion of Detect Enchantments. She also warns you not to kill any Mages Guild members.

The gem can be found in the quarters of the Arch-Mage Gindaman. To get to Gindaman's quarters, you'll need a Geth Sigil Amulet of Entry first to get past the daedric protective barrier. Luckily for you, one such amulet isn't too far away; you can find it in Banvira Auctoria's room, lying on her bed. To get there, you'll need to use a Levitate spell or the Rising Force potion you got from Jula.

With the amulet, you can just walk into Gindaman's quarters. The gem can be found in the back of the room, past the tapestry, on a top shelf next to a Scroll of Summon Golden Saint. If you position yourself correctly, Gindaman shouldn't be able to see you when stealing the gem, making the heist somewhat easy.

Return the gem to Jula to get a Common Soul Gem with the soul of an Ogrim Titan as your reward. If you happen to kill one of the Mages Guild members during the quest, Jula takes the gem from you, but you won't receive any rewards, and her Disposition with you drops to zero.
