Quick Walkthrough

1. Talk to Boss Kanah.
2. Go to Boar Snout Manor, just north of the city.
3. Sneak up to the third floor and you will find a messy room.
4. Unlock the door to the messy room with the Rusted Key, pick it, or use an Open spell.
5. In the messy room, activate the hook shaped strange object on the wall next to the bed which will open a secret room at the back corridor on the ground floor.
6. Enter the secret room and steal the Redguard family heirloom on the shelf.
7. Return to Boss Kanah.

Detailed Walkthrough

Background

Boss Kanah assigns you to retrieve a Redguard family heirloom for a client from the Boar Snout Clan manor. Turns out, the client is a family of Redguards who used to inhabit the manor but it was taken over by its current Nord occupants sometime during or after the War of the Bend'r-mahk. She says there might be a switch in one of the rooms on the upper floor that opens a secret passage into the vault that has the heirloom. One of the Redguard family members recalls seeing the secret passage once while running down a hallway as a young boy. Boss Kanah recommends bringing a bottle or two of Ungorth to blend in, since the manor residents would get upset if you ventured anywhere besides the main hall of the building.

Infiltration

You can find Boar Snout Manor a short walk from Karthwasten. Exit the city from the north gate and the manor will be on your right. If you go up the southeast set of stairs on the ground floor, you will come across a locked door. You can pick it, or levitate up to the bridge that hangs over the main hall. Either way, go up the southwest set of stairs that leads to the second floor. Despite what Boss Kanah says, no one will stop you from going to other parts of the manor. On the second floor you will find a hallway with an Orc standing guard outside a locked room. You can pick the lock without her noticing if you are skilled enough. Alternatively, there is a Rusted Key on a nightstand in Gredna's locked room in the southern portion of the manor on the ground floor. This key unlocks the room on the upper floor. Inside this room on the wall is a hook shaped strange object. Activating it will open a secret passage in the long hallway just behind the throne in the main hall. Take the family heirloom and return to Boss Kanah for your reward. Despite what the quest stages may indicate, whether you caught stealing or picking locks inside the manor does not determine the reward you get. Boss Kanah will not have a reaction if you are caught. The reward is 750 gold and the Ring of Lucky Leaps, which fortifies Acrobatics and Luck.
