The Fire-Hand Clan is a clan of Nords originally hailing from Eastmarch, but which now reside within the Kingdom of the Reach after a feud with the Oar-Breaker Clan of Kynholm drove them from their homeland. They are lead by Jarl Jona the Ansei-Ender, who gained both her title and position as a Jarl of the Kingdom of the Reach for her exploits during the War of Bend'r Mahk. For their assistance during the war, King Barda granted them the right to govern the lands they conquered. This includes the settlements of Haimtir, Karthwasten, and Dragonstar East, the latter of which being the location of the clan's current headquarters of Castle Dragonstar.
The Fire-Hand clan's aggressive nature has put them at odds with most nearby powers. The Fire-Hand clan still plots against the remnant of the Republic of Dragonstar for complete control of the city of Dragonstar. It is only due to the presence of Imperial Legion peacekeepers stationed in the city and nearby Taurus Hall that the clan has been unable to act on their invasion plans, much to the displeasure of the clan. As far as the clan is concerned, the Imperials are not only standing in the way of them seizing what is rightfully theirs but are also protecting Sogat Dur-Gada assassins and spies that are working to overthrow them.
The Fire-Hand clan also has a tense relationship with the Kingdom of the Reach. While the clan is outwardly amiable toward the Kingdom of the Reach, it's an open secret that they resent the kingdom for exiling Jarl Jona from Karthwasten following the conclusion of the War of Bend'r Mahk. This occurred as a result of Jarl Jona's attempt to drive the Sogat Dur-Gada from Karthwasten by sieging the city for a second time after it had already been taken earlier in the war. Ever since then Thane Fomir the Voiceful has ruled the city in her stead.
