Detailed Walkthrough[edit]

After your excursion to the Wayshrine of Arkay in Changing Seasons, you can meet Alsia again in the Crossing Inn of Brina Cross. She has been greatly irked by the arrival of a proselytizing Dark Elf named Breva Rondas in Anvil.

"Who does she think she is? Acting like she can just show up in town and expecting that everyone will trust her!"

While Alsia's motivations may or may not be in part due to a recent personal trauma on her part concerning charismatic preachers with all the answers, her instructions are clear enough. You're to get Breva to tone down her evangelical streak.

Travel to Anvil. You can take the carriage service from Brina Cross' west gate if you don't fancy the walk. You'll find Breva in the Bathhouse Apartments in Little Arenthia - the poor quarter of Anvil. The zealous mer is unapologetic, but acknowledges that she may have been a little too keen - for she has taken out a ruinous loan from a local pawnbroker, Lusha, in order to fund her planned missionary expedition into Valenwood. She'll ask that you break the contract by removing it from Lusha's possession.

Lusha's pawnbroker store is in Little Arenthia. Enter, and you can speak to Lusha herself. The Wood Elf is a worshiper of Z'en, and apparently took offense at some of the words Breva used while proclaiming the superiority of Zenithar instead. She'll offer to sell the contract back to you, but you can also steal it from behind her if you wish (it's above two chests, next to a copy of a red book named The Blood-Money Siege).

However you acquire the note, return to Breva to inform her that she has been released from her financial obligations - or at least, freed of any evidence of said obligations. She'll reward you with a Ghost Charm she has brought from Morrowind. As she is now bound for Valenwood, you can return to Alsia to confirm that you have completed your task. The Itinerant Priest will have calmed down by this point, acknowledging her anger towards Brevas was in part due to her recent experience with another - someone that she thought had all the answers, until they departed with the last of her gold. It's this lack of gold which means that she has nothing now with which to reward you for your help.

Notes[edit]

  • Lusha can be removed from her pawnbroker store by the events of another quest, Breaking Good, in which case your only option is to steal the contract.
  • The contract has two ids in the game files (PC_m1_IP_Als2_LoanBuy and PC_m1_IP_Als2_LoanSteal), with the one on display having the 'Steal' tag, and the one for sale having the 'Buy' tag.

10 Alsia asked me to speak with a Dunmer member of the Imperial Cult named Breva Rondas who recently arrived from Morrowind. Alsia is concerned that Breva's proselytizing will cause problems in Cyrodiil. Breva is staying in an apartment above the Anvil bathhouse in Little Arenthia district.
20 Breva Rondas told me that she'd had a misunderstanding with a pawnbroker, Lusha, who agreed to lend her a large sum of money to fund her mission to Valenwood. Breva is unable to pay for the contract, and asked that I help her break it by bringing it back to her.
30 I gave the promissory note to Breva.
40 Lusha is dead.
