Quest-Related Events[edit]
On the south side of Pelin Graveyard as you pass a tomb, you'll hear someone trying to get your attention:
- Scholar Cogline: "Psst! Over here!"
- "You're the first thing I've seen that isn't an undead monstrosity. Lovely. Are you with the garrison? Please tell me you're here to rescue me."
- Scholar Diel sent me to find you. She has a camp outside the garrison's walls.
- "Thank Stendarr! I thought I could make it to Evermore, but I tired myself out. When I tried to pass through the old graveyard, I ran into unspeakable horrors! Thought I was finished.
I'll head back now. Say, did you find that Pyre Watch warrior?"

If the Bangkorai Garrison has been liberated from the Seventh Legion, you can then ask him more questions, if not, he will simply leave.
- "I'll find Scholar Diel's camp straightaway. I'm in your debt. If I can do anything to aid you, all you have to do is ask."
- What can you tell me about the ancient Gray Host?
- "The army of monsters that ravaged the First Era? Not really my area of expertise.
I study the historical accounts of Warlord Thulgeg's army of Orcs and Goblins. The garrison held strong and denied them passage. Not one got through. Truly inspiring!" - You're a historian. You must know something that could help me.
- "Well, most scholars agree that the fanciful legend about the Gray Host's defeat is … pardon my Orcish … guar dung.
You know, the Pyre Watch are sort of Gray Host experts. Find her and I'm sure she can provide the answers you seek."
As you leave, he'll reassure:
- Scholar Cogline: "I'll hurry back to Scholar Diel's camp. Be safe!"
Back at Scholar Laurette Diel's camp, he'll greet you with:
- "Thank you again for the timely rescue.
I daresay, I'll regale my grandchildren with the tale of my escape and return for the rest of my days. I simply must commit it all to paper. So much history to record!"
Talking to her before going to Viridian Watch:
- "I couldn't help overhear … you're headed to Viridian Watch?
If you hadn't just rescued me from certain death, I'd ask to come along. I have wanted to see that place since … well, forever! Alas, I am in no shape for another adventure right now."
