Quest-Related Events[edit]
Parash is the quest-giver. When you approach, he warns you to stay back:
- "Mind the wisps!"
His previous ambient dialogue:
- "Careful! I erect the spine of warning. Stay back! It's dangerous out here."
While he's digging graves for the dead, he will warn you about the recent aggressive behavior of the wisps:
- "This is no place for the living, not anymore. If you're here to honor lost friends, you should come back next season.
Maybe things will be better by then." - If it's so dangerous here, why are you still working?
- "Wisps or no wisps, it's wrong to leave a body unable to return to the Hist. And the travelers who bring the bodies, well, they expect a burial.
I've tried, but I can't fight wisps with a shovel. All I can do is bury the dead." - Why are the wisps attacking?
- "The wind has not whispered that to me. There have always been wisps, but never this dangerous.
My mind would be eased to see travelers free of this threat. Life here is hard enough already." - Then let me look into it.
If you speak to him again before rescuing travelers, he says:
- "If you banish the wisps, maybe their victims can escape."
After freeing the travelers and returning to him, he immediately begins to scream and clasp his head. If you try to speak to him, you'll get the following message:
- "<Parash does not react to your presence.>"
- Parash?
- "<Parash's gaze continues to focus on something you can't quite see.>"
Try to speak to him again, and he'll fall to his knees.
- "Wha … was I sleeping? I saw an Argonian waif, crying for help.
My head feels like it's trying to leave my body. I need to sit down."
