Approach his spot, and you'll hear him being harassed by a Camonna Tong:

Camonna Tong Coercer : "Come down from there, slave. Unless you'd prefer to lose some fingers."

Jaree-Eeto : "No! You will not put me in chains again! No one will!"

Free him from his tormentors and he'll tell you:

"Thank you, stranger. I was near to slitting my own wrists. If it's to be slavery or suicide, I'll take suicide."

What do the Camonna Tong plan to do with you?

"Difficult to say. Slaves are a valuable commodity. I suspect they would either kill us outright or sell us back to our previous masters.
The sum we paid to Khartag was meager—too meager for the Camonna Tong anyway. They will not take us home."

Wih-Waska survived but Mabkir wasn't so lucky. You should get going. "Mabkir is dead? But, he was alive when I …. I know you did all you could. Thank you, friend. Hist watch over you."	What happened to the other freed slaves, Mabkir and Wih-Waska? "Khartag told us to run. There was much shouting and confusion. Mabkir and Wih-Waska ran one way, and I ran the other. I hope they fared better than I did. Those dry-skinned hoodlums almost killed me." Nakhul is injured, but he's waiting for you outside. "Thank you, stranger. I will find Nakhul. Hist protect you."

Outside the caves, he'll say:
