Elsar is a Nord drunkard who can be found at The Tapped Vein in Shor's Stone. He's in the basement enjoying his drink and the musings of Attring the Songbird and conversing with the barmaid Garri.

He bemoans just about every hardship currently facing the area, and asks you to keep him ignorant if you know of any more.

"I can't go back to the lines. So much blood and death. I can't do it."

What happened here?

"What hasn't happened here? There are Reachmen all around the town, attacking us every day. A bunch of them broke through our lines, swarmed into the mine, then sealed it behind them. Good riddance, I say."

"Death all around isn't enough for you? It is for me. There's also shamans out there, corrupting corpses in our graveyards, floating them out of the ground. Who knows why? Not me."

"How should I know? I'm not down there, am I? You wanna know, you go down there and see for yourself. If you do find out, don't tell me. I don't wanna know."
