Cintuudaer is a High Elf lector of the College of Rituals who can be encountered around Solstice. After accidentally biting his tongue during a ritual, he has summoned the self-proclaimed "Prince of Mathness" and will need your mathematic skills to banish the fiend.

Dialogue[edit]

You can encounter him walking with the Prince of Mathness trailing behind:

Zyrcifel: "Stand firm wretched mage and answer my questions quadratic!"
Cintuudaer: "It has been two days! Torment me no longer, you sorry excuse for a Daedric Prince!"

Speak with him to learn about the situation:

"Thank the Three Queens, another mortal soul! You must help me. I've suffered two days of endless questions at the hands of this so-called Daedric Prince! Please, are you good at mathematical equations?"
Did you say mathematical equations?
"Let me start over. I'm a lector with the College of Rituals and I hoped to summon Sheogorath. I know, I know, spare me your judgment. But, when I tried to summon the Prince of Madness, I bit my tongue.
Instead, I summoned the Prince of Mathness."
Prince of … Mathness?
"I have no doubt this is some underling the Mad God sent to torment me. And, worse yet, I cannot banish him. He badgers me with mathematical questions and follows me everywhere, insistently urging me to comply with his queries."
How can I help?
"Distract this so called Prince while I construct a ritual to banish him. Just answer his questions for as long as you can and I should finally be able to rid us of this torment."

If you try talking to him again before the Prince:

"Please, talk to that so-called Prince and keep him distracted while I prepare a ritual to banish him back to Oblivion."

You will need to speak with Zyrcifel and correctly answer his math questions or find some other way for him to leave. If you get one of the questions wrong, the following happens:

Zyrcifel: "You tried to banish me? Did you really think it would be that easy? Our game has only just begun!"
Cintuudaer: "No, no, please! Leave me be you vile, equation-spewing shade!"
<Cintuudaer runs away.>

If you successfully distract Zyrcifel so Cintuudaer can complete the banishing ritual:

Cintuudaer: "I banish you to the Shivering Isles! Begone, Prince of Mathness, begone!"
<Zyrcifel clutches at his head.>
Zyrcifel: "It was a pleasure, dear mage! Back to the Shivering Isles I go!"
<Zyrcifel disappears.>
Cintuudaer: "Thank you, stranger. Next time, I will endeavor not to bite my tongue when communing with Daedric entities."
<Cintuudaer leaves.>
