Bodyguards (or Defenders)[1] are a class of hostile humanoid NPCs that attack using melee abilities. Generally they will be equipped with heavy armor with a one-handed weapon and shield. The class was introduced with Thieves Guild.

Skills and Abilities[edit]
- Quick Strike
- A basic melee attack that does minor physical damage.
- Power Bash
- A heavy shield bash that does moderate damage and stuns if it hits the target. This attack can be blocked to set the enemy off balance.
- Shield Charge
- The bodyguard charges at you from a distance with their shield raised, dealing moderate physical damage and staggering in an area.
- Block
- The enemy may also briefly block with its shield, reducing damage taken greatly. Players that attempt melee heavy attacks on the enemy when it is blocking will be set off balance.
- Shard Shield
- The bodyguard will cast Shard Shield at an ally, which grants the ally a massive damage shield. This spell can be interrupted to set the Bodyguard off balance.
- 'Til Death
- The Bodyguard casts a golden link to an ally, providing them with various buffs depending on the bodyguard. (Only on some bodyguards)
