Oblivion talk:Unmarked Roads
Isn't the shrine of Hermaeus Mora along this (Chorrol-Bruma) road? QuillanTalk 09:48, 19 July 2006 (EDT)
- Yep, you're right, I did stumble into that shrine my first time exploring along this road. I've added in a quick entry; hopefully I'll remember at some point to double check exactly where that fork is. I'm guessing it may be less-than-obvious when going from Chorrol to Bruma, since I obviously missed it when going back over the road in that direction.--Nephele 13:26, 19 July 2006 (EDT)
Other roads[edit]
I put in some semi-placeholders for the other lengthy unmarked roads that I know of and would like to see (at a minimum) included on this page. I actually set out to document the Bruma-to-Cheydinhal road a couple days ago, but got slightly detoured by Frostcrag Spire. So I added in my first couple notes, and from memory a very incomplete list of some of the other places I know that road leads to.--Nephele 13:26, 19 July 2006 (EDT)
- Four roads are now filled in. If anyone uses these descriptions, I'd appreciate feedback on whether it really is possible to pick out the roads from what I've written. I'm trying to give alot of details because, unlike on the main roads, you really don't know if you start heading off down a fork. If nothing else, I'm learning alot from going out and searching for these roads. I never knew it was possible to get to Azura's shrine by just heading north from Cheydinhal: I'd always follow the road all the way around to Fort Horunn and then cut all the way back. (And since I do most of my exploring by foot, I really rely on these roads to get through the mountains)--Nephele 15:09, 22 July 2006 (EDT)
More detailed map[edit]
There's already a more detailed map of minor roads here (recently updated). The roads aren't drawn onto the in-game map, but I think it's clearer for that very reason :-) It shows a good many more minor roads than the one currently shown in the article. I'd suggest using that map instead, but won't change it myself (yet, anyway) as there may be disagreement. Petrushka 20:26, 8 September 2007 (EDT)
- I've changed it since I was the one who did the other map and won't get upset! This one is much better for unmarked roads. --RpehTalk 04:25, 9 September 2007 (EDT)
Just a small question[edit]
Are those dirt roads counted as a road? Also I have found few unmarked roads, I was just wondering how do I exactly mark them into that map? Do I need to get an aerial image of the place with CS and do some tracing?--Demian 09:09, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
- I imagine Petrushka did it using overlays in a paint program. If you've found more roads why not post on his talk page and tell him about it so he can add them? –Rpeh•T•C•E• 10:58, 25 August 2008 (EDT)
Cleanup tag?[edit]
Can I delete the cleanup tag on this page? It was added by a new user earlier today, and the cleanup tag lists no reason for cleanup. The user who added it said something about wonky bullet points in their edit summary. I thought bullet points were supposed to look like that? Correct me if I'm wrong. Kitkat1749 •Talk•Contrib•E-mail 22:38, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- I just "cleaned up" the page anyways. I understand why he put it on there; the page was kind of hard to read with all those bullet points. I included some basic instructions for how to follow the page in the intro, expanded some notes and indented a lot instead of using bullet points for everything. Feel free to revert or what-not if you think it was better before. Minor Edits 22:52, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
(←) That's cool; I only did that because that guy complained. Anyways, the way it is now works, it's just that the bullet points tend to bleed together and it's very unintuitive to read at first. I remembering staring at the note "A bridge." and trying to figure out for a couple minutes just what that meant; I nearly deleted it before I figured out what the page was trying to do with its layout. At the least, some clarification in the intro seems appropriate. Minor Edits 23:30, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- I wouldn't worry - that's maybe 2 out of 1000 edits of yours I've disputed! I honestly didn't have a problem with the previous layout, but the new one is really unclear to me. I'd suggest a sandbox might be the way to go here? rpeh •T•C•E• 23:39, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
- Hell, I think the way to go at this point is to remove the cleanup tag and quit while we're ... back where we started. I have no idea how to make this page better. Minor Edits 00:01, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
Sorry guys. I'm new at this. I added the cleanup tag and its because there are bullet points at the same "level" as the main bullets points (i.e. the names of roads) which are NOT the names of roads. For example "A bridge" is the same level as "Cloud Top". Not only does this make no logical sense, but it is sloppy. If this makes perfect sense to everyone but me, then I will politely bow out...but it looked an awful lot like something that needed fixing to me. Axxchor 03:22, 8 September 2011 (UTC)
