Discrepancy[edit]
For the Breton Bandit Wizard, there seems to be an extra 25 Magicka. I'm getting 225 + 3.5×(PC-1) with a maximum of 350 (which includes the 50 points of Fortify Magicka). That's also what I see in the console in-game. I'm just wondering if there's something I've missed. – Robin Hood↝talk 17:54, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Are you sure you're getting the sum right? Because I get, taking max spell points, 250+50 (racial boost)+50 (Boethia's birthsign)+25 (Bandit Wizard birthsign)=375 or, taking base spell points, 175 (including racial boost)+50+25=250. I could be wrong though. --S'drassa •T2M 18:04, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Ah, I see where the extra 25 is coming from in your calculations — it's the Bandit Wizard birthsign. I can see it in the Construction Set, but it isn't showing up in-game. Looking at SDT 9, I see a Magicka of 350, and looking at SDT 8, I only see Fortify Magicka effects from the Breton birthsign and from Boethia's birthsign. I'm not sure why the extra birthsign from the Bandit Wizard levelled list isn't being applied. – Robin Hood↝talk 18:23, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Is Boethia's birthsign overiding it?--TheAlbinoOrcany_questions? 19:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- Hmmmm...I hadn't thought of that possibility. I'll make a "mod" that removes Boethia's birthsign and see if the Bandit Wizard birthsign shows up. – Robin Hood↝talk 19:11, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- I wrote up a quick hack mod that gave every birthsign to an NPC directly. They all showed up in game according to the sdt 8 readout. I then removed all that from the NPC and put the leveled spell list LL2BanditWizardLvl100 on. The sdt 8 readout showed no active effects. It looks like applying an ability through a leveled spell list doesn't actually work. Arthmoor 19:28, 3 September 2010 (UTC)

- (edit conflict) It was a good idea while it lasted, but it didn't pan out. I created a "No BS" mod <grin> and first tried it with having removed Boethia's Birthsign, then the racial bonus, and finally having changed the one thing that was different between the Bandit Wizard birthsign ability and Boethia's birthsign (the auto-calc flag for the ability). No matter what, the Bandit Wizard birthsign still didn't show. Then I had a look at Mogens Windshifter, who has the exact same ability from the same list, and then finally, a Bandit Wizard, who has the same ability but from a different list. In every case, the Bandit Wizard ability failed to appear. Clearly, though, other spells from the same list did appear, but they were spells, not abilities. My take on it is the same as the one Arthmoor just posted: that abilities from levelled spell lists simply don't come into effect for whatever reason. We'll have to change all the relevant pages to reflect that info. – Robin Hood↝talk 20:02, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
- The CS wiki seems to explain it best: http://cs.elderscrolls.com/Leveled_Spell The spells in the list are resolved when entering combat. Since abilities generally can't be cast, they simply don't show up. Arthmoor 20:09, 3 September 2010 (UTC)
