Talasma in The Oak and Crosier

Talasma is a Khajiit publican, and the innkeeper at The Oak and Crosier in Chorrol. She sells food and rents out beds.

Talasma wakes up every day at 6am and stands behind the counter, occasionally talking to the regulars until 2am, when she goes to bed.

She defines The Oak and Crosier as the inn for the more sophisticated customer, and she has the wardrobe to prove it: a blue velvet outfit and a pair of gold trimmed shoes. She also carries her key and a considerable amount of gold.

Dialogue[edit]

When you approach her, she will introduce herself and her establishment in a rather formal tone:

"Welcome to the Oak and Crosier. This one is Talasma, your hostess. Our rooms and food are at your disposal."

If you ask her for a bed, she'll quickly drop the formal tone:

Bed
"There's one available for the night, if you're interested. It'll be 10 gold. What do you say?"

If you accept, she will point you towards the room:

"The room is upstairs, first door to the left. Sleep well."

Should you not have the money to pay for a room, she will politely you return with more funds:

"I can't let you have it for free, I'm afraid. Come see me when you have some money."

If you ask her about renting a room after you've already done so she will reply:

"I hope the accomodations are satisfactory."

When you ask her about Chorrol, she will compare her inn with the competing Grey Mare in the southern part of town:

Chorrol
"The Oak and Crosier is the place of choice for well-bred visitors to Chorrol. The Grey Mare is more suitable for... others."

Rumors[edit]

The citizens of Chorrol have noticed Talasma's attitude and are not uniformly impressed, as you will overhear in conversations:

"The Oak and Crosier is a nice place, but that Talasma seems rather stuck-up to me."

"I've always liked the Oak and Crosier. I don't know Talasma that well, though."
"It is a nice place, and you're right about Talasma."

There are also speculations about something being amiss at the inn, although opinion appears to be divided: "I could be wrong, but it seems to me there's something shady going on at the Oak and Crosier."

"Do you think? I've never noticed anything."
"I've suspected that as well. Still, it's not a bad place."

In more casual conversation, you may hear citizens ask: "Do you ever spend time in the Oak and Crosier?"

"Certainly I've spent time there. Talasma runs a good, quiet Inn."
"I've had many meals at the Oak and Crosier. Sure, it may not be the best in all Cyrodiil, but it suits me fine."

Notes[edit]

  • Despite Talasma claiming to be the higher-class option of the town's two inns, rooms in both are priced the same.
  • Unused dialogue topics mentioning the Renrijra Krin, along with rumors about the inn and the basement's dungeon exploration music, may be indications of an unfinished quest involving the inn.
