The Inn of Ill Omen is an inn south of the Imperial City (quest-related).
The publican, Manheim Maulhand, buys potions and food while only selling the latter. He will also buy your stolen goods, even if you aren't a member of the Thieves Guild; however, this is only useful after you have obtained the Mercantile skill perks that allow you to barter anything with him and invest in him. The first floor contains the main reception area, consisting of a bar with a counter and a dining room. The guest rooms are both upstairs and downstairs, in the basement Private Quarters accessed through a trapdoor at the base of the stairs.
The room you can rent is the first on the left upstairs. It contains only a bedroll. The adjacent room is average-locked, and contains a free bedroll where Minerva sleeps, a chest, and two sacks. The basement offers more spacious and comfortable lodgings consisting of two rooms. The first room is hard-locked and contains a free double bed, a chest, a set of drawers, and a set of shelves, while the second room is unlocked and contains a free double bed where Rufio sleeps during the related quest, a chest, two sets of drawers, a cupboard, a table, and a bench.

Bugs[edit]
- An Imperial Legion Forester spawns at the Inn of Ill Omen. He can sometimes be seen practicing archery on the target outside the inn; however, his shots will always miss the target to the left.
- The Unofficial Oblivion Patch, version 2.2.0, addresses this issue. His aim is now accurate.
