The page title was chosen pursuant to this discussion. The Nu-Mantia Intercept also uses the name "Ocato of Firsthold".

Much of the details were derived from in-game dialogue and the Daggerfall Manual, which I have treated as an in-game source. I don't think that's a problem, as it's an officially-approved companion to the Daggerfall game and other pages treat it the same way. For that text and in-game Oblivion dialogue, see here and here.

Some of the information, particularly in the last paragraph, may qualify as original research. I don't think any of those statements are controversial or entail big leaps in logic, but feel free to change or remove anything you disagree with. Ocato in Daggerfall intro movie

Can someone explain me why a bearded torchbearer near an Emperor is Ocato? Uriel Septim VII didn't introduce neither himself nor the second person. (Actually, the only name he named was "King Lysandus".) So, how can we know?--Hedera helix (talk) 20:33, 9 April 2020 (GMT)

Site-wide unsourced information

I was working on a lorepage for the Stormcrown Interregnum and made some inquiries to the death date of Ocato. It makes sense; the Stormcrown Interregnum lasted 7 years, and Titus Mede captured the Imperial City circa 4E 17. What's the problem? Well, as far as I can tell, the date 4E 17 given to Titus Mede's takeover is uncorroborated in any source. Rising Threat makes no mention of it, nor does The Great War. I own a copy of Lord of Souls and have also had no luck finding this date. If anyone can shed light unto where this date comes from, I'd very much appreciate it! It's based on Rising Threat, which states the Stormcrown Interregnum began immediately after Ocato's death, and Ocato died after a decade of the author's work, which take place over the initial years of the Fourth Era. Although approximations, I think the dates can reasonably be trusted as they are.
