Chieftain Lydi Snowpelt was one of the leaders of the Rageclaw Clan. She was active in 2E 582, during the Three Banners War.[1]
History[edit]
Little is known of Lydi Snowpelt's past. Despite the matriarchal nature of the Rageclaws,[2] she was not the only one of the Rageclaws bearing the authority and the title of chieftain.[1][3] She shared this title with Frostfang, a male member of the clan.[4][5] They were ruling together, but the nature of their relationship was unknown.[3][5][4] Another member of the clan, Stral Blackthroat, was also considered a clan leader at that time.[4]
Lydi, together with Frostfang and Stral Blackthroat made an alliance with two other Reachfolk clans: the Boneshapers and the Stonetalons, and signed the treaty on 3rd of the Frost Fall in 2E 582.[6] The clans aligned themselves with the Cult of the Black Worm, which promised the power and blessings of Molag Bal.[7][8][9] and invaded the Rift in 2E 582.[1][6]
Under their leadership, the Rageclaw Clan participated in warfare-related activities. When their allies of the Boneshaper Clan surrounded the Shor's Stone, choked off passage between Stony Basin and the Riften valley,[1] kidnapped local miners, and used tunnels as a site for their rituals,[10][11][12] their forces, led by Chieftain Frostfang, assaulted the Fallowstone Hall to steal Wuuthrad in the hopes of reviving the half-giant chieftain, Sinmur and his army. They suffered great losses and Frostfang died during the fights, but they managed to take the great axe from the Nords.[13]
Ultimately, the Reachmen alliance was defeated, however. Their allied forces, led by Stral Blackthroat, were vanquished in the Vernim Woods,[14] and their attack on the Boulderfall Pass was stopped.[15] Lydi, together with other clan leaders: Vivian Witchclaw of the Stonetalons and Kevinne Blightheart of the Boneshapers was defeated by the King's Arrow at the encampment west of Boulderfall Pass, as per request of dying Ebonheart Pact soldier Melril.[16][17] The future of the clan following his death is unknown, but their invasion of the Rift was thwarted.[14][18]
