Liriel River

The Liriel River is a waterway located east of Sunhold with two tributaries flowing from the mountains into the southern shore of the Summerset Isle, to the waters of the Southern Sea.[1][UOL 1] It runs through a fertile valley surrounded by mountains and is home to fish such as Anu's Travally, Eton Sprat, and Great Yellowfin.[1][2] One of the tributaries starts in the mountains between Sunhold and the ruins of Tor-Hame-Khard, an abandoned fortress,[3] flowing through Archon's Grove and emptying out of Holly Falls to the valley below. The other tributary starts at the mountains near Alaxon'ald and Dusk Keep and flows westward to meet the rest of the stream, forming an island around Sunhold Wayshrine. Two estuaries of the river flow out into the ocean to the south.[1]

Circa 2E 582, an abyssal geyser was opened by the Abyssal Cabal and Court of Bedlam at a site next to the Liriel River.[1]

Notes[edit]

  • In the early drafts of Summerset for ESO, the Liriel Nereids inhabiting the river would have been sickened by the plague-bearing undead the Maormer had hurled into Isque as part of their biological warfare. A planned quest involved High Priestess Vendialara partaking in a ritual to bless the Starglass Bell forged in the cave of the Liriel Nereids. Nearby locations would have included Isque Kinhouse, the Fane of Breath, the Oyinaam, and the Harmonium Fortress.[UOL 1] Though these did not make it into the game, the Liriel itself appeared in the zone.[1]
