Castellian was a Breton noble from the late Third Era. Before his death, he was the head of Wayrest's elder council and served directly under King Eadwyre as one of his advisors. Castellian owned several houses across the kingdom and enjoyed his privacy, almost in excess. He also had a sister named Lady Pasipha, another member of Wayrest's court at the time.[1][2]

When Castellian was born is unknown, however, he eventually rose to his position as the most powerful and senior member of Wayrest's court.[3] In the years after Eadwyre married Barenziah of Morrowind, the question of succession had been on the people's minds across Wayrest.[4] The subject had especially distracted Lord Castellian[5] but in time, he became very vocal about his desire to marry Princess Elysana, Eadwyre's daughter. However, it was rumored that the Princess had no love for him.[3]

In 3E 405, he left his position in Castle Wayrest to go on a temporary holiday.[2] It was at that time, Prince Helseth and Princess Elysana, in their bid for the kingdom's throne, sent an Agent of the Blades to manipulate Lord Castellian. Helseth sent them a blackmail letter regarding his sister, Lady Pasipha. The letter was delivered in time and Castellian backed legislation to put Helseth in favor.[1]

In the end, Castellian lost his life when Elysana planned his assassination. The Princess sent the Agent to deliver a finely made cloak to him at his home. Unknown to them, the cloak was enchanted to summon three Daedric seducers and attack its wearer. Castellian was killed by the Daedra and his guards tried to kill the Agent.[2] When news of his death became public, all that was known was that he disappeared from his home while on holiday, but King Eadwyre suspected it was foul play.[3]
