Lore:Bloodthorn
The Bloodthorn, also known as the Bloodthorn Dagger[1][2] is an impressive[3]:259 steel dagger of unknown origins, associated with various Reachfolk factions.[4][5] The weapon is imbued with an enchantment that drains vitality from those struck by it as well as traps the souls of those killed by it.[6]
Circa 2E 582 the Bloodthorn was in possession of Orcish wise woman Laganakh of Seamonut Clan. It may have been connected to the Bloodthorn Cult, as it shares its name with the faction. Laganakh gifted it to the Vestige after they helped her to investigate the hideout of the Bloodthorn Cult lair on Betnikh.[4]
Circa 4E 201 the Bloodthorn was found by the Last Dragonborn on top of the Hag's End in the northern parts of the Reach.[7] It was previously in the possession of the witch who was sacrificed on the altar in the Hag's End.[3]:259

Notes[edit]
- In ESO, this item is named "Bloodthorn Dagger of the Trainee" due to being part of the Armor of the Trainee set. Wearing several items from this set will fortify health, magicka, and stamina.[8] It is enchanted to restore magicka to the wielder and deal additional damage to the target on hit.[1] Formerly its name was just "Bloodthorn Dagger".[2]
- It was listed alongside numerous other artifacts in ESO's Cyrodiil Campaigns.[9]
