Belda was an Ayleid settlement located near the northeastern shore of Lake Rumare, in the Heartlands of Cyrodiil. Its ruins can be found at the end of the Blue Road, west of the city of Cheydinhal.

History[edit]

Circa 2E 582, the entrance to Belda was sealed. The necromancer Goren Veer took up residence at the ruins and began summoning Daedra, while various bloodfiends also inhabited the ruins.[1][2] A Daggerfall Covenant scout camped out nearby noted that there were strange sounds coming from the ruins.[3] The nearby military strongholds of Arrius Keep and Blue Road Keep were located just to the north and south of the ruins respectively, and were the site of much contention during the Alliance War.[1][4][5]

By 3E 433 the ruins had been opened, but its subterranean halls were once again occupied by conjurers and Daedra.[6]

Notes[edit]

  • Belda can be partially translated in Ayleidoon to ''? Fane"[7] while its inner subsection, Belda Lor partially translates to "Dark ? Fane".[7][8]
