from childhood. I know that Gothryd would not refuse
his aid, but I must bide my time to ask. After all,
Elysana is still heiress of Wayrest and I am her
bethrothed. So it should be that when Eadwyre dies
(which he is bound to do, sooner rather than later)
I will be king.

If it weren't for that bitch queen and her brats,
I would and could be patient. Never trust a dark elf
the old saying goes, for you cannot read truth in
their eyes. If Barenziah has her way, Helseth will
be heir and Elysana will be married off to some far-
off kingdom. Morgiah is already promised to the
heir of Firsthold, but they keep her around to spread
the poison against Elysana, and especially, me.

Barenziah doesn't trust me, this I can tell.

And I need her to trust me if I am to lead her to
Oblivion. Lysandus never liked me, refused to aid me
but I went through his son. Pity Barenziah is not
fonder of Elysana. Not fond of her, but she trusts
Elysana (who couldn't? The child hasn't harbored a
dark thought in her entire life). I could perhaps
convince Elysana to invite Barenziah out on a picnic
and hire the same orcs that slew Lysandus (a fine
job they did! For sub-humans, they are surprisingly
crafty) to interupt ...

(Unlikely that Barenziah would picnic alone with
Elysana. Again, she trusts her, but does not relish
her company ... Perhaps if Barenziah had some trap
of her own to spring ... Get Elysana out of the
palace to what? Talk to her about me perhaps? ...
I might be able to manipulate Barenziah into wanting
to murder Elysana ... She is intelligent, but overly
passionate like most elves. Therein lies ...)

First it is important to solidify my power base.
I can (almost certainly) rely on Gothryd to support
my bid for the throne, if Helseth is made heir. I
have a spy network equalling Eadwyre, Gothryd,
Akorith-i, or the Emperor. Perhaps the Necromancers
and the Underking's networks are more extensive, but
I doubt it. I have a reasonable sized order of well
trained fighting men, and some of Wayrest would join
me, I doubt it not. I have enough money to hire
mercenaries.

I need the Mantella. Not just so I can wield the
power of Numidium, but so Eadwyre, Barenziah, and
Helseth won't.

They waste their time on the Totem, fools. It is
enough that someone has it, and I keep my eye on its
location. I will not scramble like Gothryd, Akorithi,
and the others to hold it. Let them hold it. I will
grab it from them just before Numidium rises. Again,
the King of Worms and agents of the Underking are
searching for the Totem. I must improve my contacts
with them, so I know when they possess it.

Is it best to wait for Nulfaga to regain her wits
or hire an expert on the Aetherius to locate the
Mantella for me? I know little of the Aetherius, but
it may be years, many years, before someone finds the
Mantella in it. Even someone very skilled.

Perhaps the kings of the Bay know more than I.
Unlikely, but it is not wise to underestimate one's
enemies. Like this [Player Name].

Mercenary! I will squash that [Player Race] flat. And
then Barenziah, with or without Elysana's help.

Lysandus is very well hidden away. If [Player Name]
wants to go digging for him, [he/she] will get a few
surprises.
