The Mathiisen Soldier is a High Elf member of the Mathiisen Town Guard found dead behind Malanie's house. Razum-dar kills him after you investigate inside during the related quest. He used to play an actual role in the quest, but now, you'll only find him as a corpse.

The Mathiisen Guard, alive and well prior to his death in an update

He used to stand guard in front of Malanie's House during the related quest. Now, you will only find him dead behind the house.

You could talk to him while he stood in front of the door.

"Step away from the house, please. The Canonreeve does not want her things disturbed."

When you set fire to the crate of linens near the house to distract him, he shouts:

Mathiisen Soldier: "Fire on the deck!"

He then runs from his post.
